Virtual Reality – what’s virtual about it?
Terry Hewitt, Director of Research Computing at Manchester Computing, University of Manchester led our discussion.
Terry explored the role of virtual reality, and some important perception issues were addressed. He also showed how virtual reality is used with some examples from the work at Manchester including virtual reality in the operating theatre, the virtual wind tunnel (it’s now more accurate than a real one), and an autopsy on a mummy from the museum using a cat scanner for data.
