4th December 2012 – Experiments You Can Do At Home

Lorelly Wilson (Chair of the North West Branch of the British Science Association) will demonstrate experiments you can do at home to get your partner out of their armchair/garden shed or to entertain the grandchildren using common household products to illustrate important chemical concepts.

  • The Lardberg demonstrates the weirdness of water.
  • Two plastics that you can make at home using simple ingredients.
  • See why sour milk makes the best scones.
  • Unusual uses for constipation remedies.

This session just won an Inspiration award from the Royal Society of Chemistry and is short-listed for an award from WISE (the campaign for gender balance in science, technology and engineering) being presented by Princess Anne next week……..
