Dark Matter – will someone please switch on the light?

Dr Ed Daw of Sheffield University will take us into the realm of Dark Matter.  What is it? Where can we find it? If it is all around us, why is it so difficult to find? What makes him think he will find it down a coal mine of all places?

His colleague, Professor Neil Spooner, is trying to find some of this enigmatic stuff. What are the consequences if he finds it?  What are the consequences if it turns out not to be there?
