10th March 2025 – Artificial Intelligence: its development, structure and use

At this meeting, Knutsford SciBarian Adrian Fisher, who has previously told us about Blockchains, and 3D Printing, will talk to us about a topic that is increasingly likely to affect all our lives, in all sorts of ways – Artificial Intelligence (AI for short).

Adrian’s talk will cover the following aspects:

  • The History of AI – key people and developments
  • The Maths of AI – overview; why 63 dimensions? the maths of  ‘Deep’; the maths of ‘Generative’
  • The LLM (Large Language Model) subset of AI – ChatGPT etc.; what they actually do; the ‘T’ in ChatGPT
  • Deployment of AI – its power; its limitations and dangers
  • My AI project
